1st January: Vivo City + Sentosa adventure
The first trip of 2007, amid fears of bad weather and big crowd, i headed for Vivo City / Sentosa with lots of anticipation and excitement (and with my 2 great colleagues+friends+sisters=great people)...after all, its been quite sometime since the so-called huge Vivo City opened, and i belong to the 20+ percent who hasn't been to the shopping mall yet...
We got there at 1pm, where we had lunch at this place called "White Dog Cafe" (too bad, ain't no Black Cat Cafe... heh). Food was nice, but the chicken leg i had was a tad over-grilled...
Thereafter we headed for Sentosa... skies slightly dark, and it had drizzled abit, but hell with that, in we went to the island. First stop was at the Merlion attraction, but since it costs 8 bucks to enter, we just took a few pics outside...
Next, we headed to Siloso Beach, via the Dragon's Trail.... where it started to rain...we managed to complete the walk thru the forest, but got a bit wet in the process.
Silso beach still had remnants of the previous night's New Year's Eve party, debris everywhere... but it was still nice, as i've not walked on a beach for at least 5 years... and i choked on my first deep inhale of the sea air... haahaa :)
Next we took the bus to Palawan Beach, where we got there just in time for sunset... come to think of it, it was chance that brought us there, since we had decided to leave the place (damn weather), but we kinda took the wrong bus, and ended up at that beach.
Looking at the first Sunset of 2007, i felt a renewed sense of purpose. I need to get moving. I can't stay stagnant for too long.
And with that, ends the short, rain-filled adventure to the little island. I will be back, when the skies are blue, when rain clouds are somewhere else...
Didn't take dinner that night, wasn't feeling that well (perhaps it was the rain?).
I succumb to my love for toys again... this time, i build my own bear, "Victaru", a velvet teddy, and i gave him a camo-tee and pants set, with sneakers and hat to match. :)
Cost me 70 bucks though.....
And so, this was how i spent my 1st day of the year :)
